Camden Woodcraft Folk

Volunteering With Us

There are many ways you can volunteer with Camden Woodcraft Folk. On the downloads page you can find a booklet that has many ways to get involved, so whether you can only help once in a while or are interested in committing more regularly there should be some ideas to inspire you.
If you can help in a way we haven’t thought of then get in touch!
We hold regular meetings, an annual general meeting (AGM) and abide by rules and procedures (safeguarding, heath & safety) which are democratically voted on by ALL members across Britain.

What we Offer

  • A clear explanation of your role
  • A regular newsletter as part of membership of The Woodcraft Folk
  • A FREE Woodcraft Folk T-shirt or Hoodie
  • FREE training including a ‘Welcome to Woodcraft’ Session

And more…

What we expect

All volunteers are expected to provide 2 references. And you will be required to undergo a CRB check if you work with children on a regular basis.

What people say about volunteering

Photo portrait of volunteer

“I got involved because I so appreciated what Woodcraft gives to my son and other children – a chance to be children connected to nature – and knew it would not be able to continue without people getting involved … It was a challenge to go camping as an adult! But the camaraderie and the personal challenge makes it an extremely fulfilling experience.”

“Its not just being part of something your own kids really love, but seeing how much all the kids enjoy it.”

Mat, an Elfin and Venturer parent, is a Group Helper, takes part in camps and helps with First Aid

“Woodcraft rocks. People get together, learn about their strengths, share experiences and have a great time.“

“You get a real sense of achievement. It is great to work together with such a wide age range of kids, (and indeed adults). I can use what skills I have to benefit.”
